Buffalo NY Souvenirs, c. 1910, Clambroth Canoe & McKinley Monument Niagara Square A Pair of Buffalo, N.Y., Souvenirs, circa 1910. The first is a Clambroth Canoe w/floral decorations, made by United States Glass Company out of Pittsburgh. In the center of the canoe a faded stamp says, ‘Souvenir of Buffalo, N.Y.’ Measures 6” long by 2-1/4” wide by 2” tall. The 2 nd Item is a Pink Decorated Demitasse Cup with a color transfer of the McKinley Monument at Niagara Square in front of Buffalo City Hall. McKinley Monument was dedicated in 1907 in commemoration to President William McKinley who was assassinated at the 1901 Pan-American Exposition. The porcelain cup was made in Germany for J.M. Brecker & Co. Department Store (est. 1905-def. 1925) located on Genesee & High Street (Brecker’s Dept Store was burned to the ground on Christmas Day, 1910, but was rebuilt the following year). It’s a wonderful piece of porcelain with all of its gilt decorations intact. Measures approx. 2-3/4” tall by 2-1/4” diameter wide. The Overall Condition of the 2 pieces, commensurate with their age of 110+ years & use over that time, is VG+. Being offered here at a reasonable “Buy It Now” price….. or simply ‘Make An Offer’ !
